The culmination of six years of research and development, The Work of Leaders captures the complexity of contemporary leadership. This program developed by Wiley’s research team who had access to data from thousands of leaders and followers and their connections to hundreds of organizational development consultants as well as drawing from the best-known leadership authorities will help you lead.
The work that Leaders do – the work that really matters– is boiled down to three areas: Crafting a vision, building alignment, and championing execution. VAE, Vision, Alignment, Execution are “magic words” that turn the goal of leadership into a tangible result. We lead your team of leaders through a process that helps them clarify and build their skills around these three important areas.
How the process works:
The Work of Leaders program begins with an online assessment that takes about 20-minutes to complete. This assessment provides a 23-page report that is used as the foundation for the remainder of the course. You can view a sample report HERE. The participants experience five 60-90 minute modules that use a variety of video, facilitated discussion, and research that help them explore the VAE model and it’s application to them as a leader and the role it can play in effectively leading their organization. These modules can be scheduled as individual sessions, or as several half-day or full day workshop. Here is an overview of each module:
Throughout the program, participants will be exposed to videos that highlight the skills in action so that it becomes easier to visualize what success might look like. For instance here are two sample videos that shows “ineffective alignment versus effective alignment”:
Graduates of the program will be better equipped as leaders to deliver on Vison, Alignment, and Execution.
